Simon Says Stamp In My Heart Blog Hop - Day 1

I'm so happy to be participating in day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp In My Heart blog hop. I hope you get some inspiration and enjoy the giveaway and a special offer for this blog hop. This gift with purchase will expire March 22nd at 11:59 pm will supplies last.πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
For this hop I will be sharing two projects using the gorgeous Gerbera Daisy Background stamp that I am showcasing with different techniques. You can decide which way you would like to try! I had a lot of fun creating each one.
This first technique I used is to stamp the Gerbera Daisy background stamp onto watercolor cardstock using white embossing powder. I heat se the stamped image then trimmed it down to fit an A2 size card base. Then I used distress inks and a waterbrush to add color to each daisy for a whimsical watercolor look.
I used one bow dies from the new Little Bow die set cut from red cardstock to add as a focal point for my sentiment which was stamped in red ink. To add shine I added clear sticky ink over the sentiment and heat set it with clear embossing powder. This is done easily with a stamp positioner.
The second technique I used is stamping the Gerbera Daisy stamp onto white cardstock with alcohol friendly black ink. I waited a minute for the black ink to dry, then I used copic markers to color in each flower for a dimensional look. I think it looks so dramatic to add black ink in between each flower to really make them pop! I cut a frame and the sentiment from white cardstock as to leave the background the star of this card.
Simon is giving away a $25 shopping spree to a lucky winner! The winner will be picked from the comments left along the hop and announced Wednesday, March 25th on the Simon blog. Each comment will be an entry into the drawing. πŸ‘‰PLEASE NOTE: If you want to leave a comment on this post, make sure you include your name so we can reach you if you are selected for the giveaway! 9. Gerbera Daisies are one of my absolute favorite summer flowers, their colors are so bright & happy. I was thrilled to see the new Gerbera Daisy BG stamp. Your two cards each one made via a different technique perfectly showed off the individuals flowers & the overall stamp. I especially love your second card, those little pops of black peeking through really made the colors pop, like how some scattered pots filled with Gerbera's pop on a deck or porch. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards.
