Simon Says Stamp In My Heart Blog Hop - Day 1
I'm so happy to be participating in day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp In My Heart blog hop. I hope you get some inspiration and enjoy the giveaway and a special offer for this blog hop. This gift with purchase will expire March 22nd at 11:59 pm will supplies last.πππ
For this hop I will be sharing two projects using the gorgeous Gerbera Daisy Background stamp that I am showcasing with different techniques. You can decide which way you would like to try! I had a lot of fun creating each one.
This first technique I used is to stamp the Gerbera Daisy background stamp onto watercolor cardstock using white embossing powder. I heat se the stamped image then trimmed it down to fit an A2 size card base. Then I used distress inks and a waterbrush to add color to each daisy for a whimsical watercolor look.
I used one bow dies from the new Little Bow die set cut from red cardstock to add as a focal point for my sentiment which was stamped in red ink. To add shine I added clear sticky ink over the sentiment and heat set it with clear embossing powder. This is done easily with a stamp positioner.
The second technique I used is stamping the Gerbera Daisy stamp onto white cardstock with alcohol friendly black ink. I waited a minute for the black ink to dry, then I used copic markers to color in each flower for a dimensional look. I think it looks so dramatic to add black ink in between each flower to really make them pop! I cut a frame and the sentiment from white cardstock as to leave the background the star of this card.
Simon is giving away a $25 shopping spree to a lucky winner! The winner will be picked from the comments left along the hop and announced Wednesday, March 25th on the Simon blog. Each comment will be an entry into the drawing. πPLEASE NOTE: If you want to leave a comment on this post, make sure you include your name so we can reach you if you are selected for the giveaway! ReplyDeleteI love the colors and design of this card.
DeleteThe daisies have just the right amount of vivid pop. Love the watercoloring.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous daisies! Love the red bow.
ReplyDeleteStunning! Love your Cards :) Heidi O.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards. The colors are so vibrant!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! This Gerber daisy background stamp is awesome! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI like both of your techniques. A full background stamp seems an easy way to build a card, and I like the look of the scrolly frame as a topper.
ReplyDeleteThought both cards were spectacular. Didn’t realize my last comment would be anonymous. Is that something you could fix or most of your comments will be anonymous. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI’m working on it. So sorry I don’t know why it does that. It’s so frustrating. Please leave your name in the comments so we can contact you if you are selected for the giveaway.
DeleteGerbera Daisies are one of my absolute favorite summer flowers, their colors are so bright & happy. I was thrilled to see the new Gerbera Daisy BG stamp. Your two cards each one made via a different technique perfectly showed off the individuals flowers & the overall stamp. I especially love your second card, those little pops of black peeking through really made the colors pop, like how some scattered pots filled with Gerbera's pop on a deck or porch. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteLove it. The bright colors are a perfect way to ring in the spring season
ReplyDeleteBeautiful backgrounds! Beth Willoughby
ReplyDeleteYour first card above pushed me over the edge to buy that stamp. I absolutely adore these cards, but especially the top one - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards. I am not good with Copics, but you have created a beautiful card front. I think I can do that first technique, so I'll give it a try. Lovely pair of cards.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you used!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so cute--I like your color choices...
ReplyDeleteLove the brightness of these cards, a happy reminder that even on dreary days, warmer weather is coming.
