Whimsy Stamps Add a Number

Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

This week's challenge theme ~ Add a Number

This week we are featuring products from Whimsy Stamps. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
Today I am featuring the adorable Whimsy Stamps Postal Minis stamp set to make my hubby a birthday card. Yes, he will be 56 but doesn't look a day over 35!๐Ÿ˜‰
Card Base:Top folding half sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 white cardstock cut to an A2 size card base.
Background: I cut a quarter sheet of white cardstock and ran it through a 3d textured embossing folder and then slid an oxide ink pad over the raised areas. Trimmed it down to fit the card base with a bit of a border.
Focal Point: I stamped the mini envelope images from the Whimsy Stamps Postal Minis set in alcohol friendly black ink and colored them in with copic markers. I fussy cut them out and arranged them with foam squares on the embossed panel.
Sentiment: I cut out the numbers from an old set of number dies I had in my stash from gold cardstock and adhered them to the card with more foam squares. I stamped and heat set the sub sentiment with gold embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and used more foam squares to arrange them on the card.
I hope you got some inspiration and enjoyed the project I made. I have listed the supplies below for your convenience. Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Those mini Whimsy envelopes are absolutely adorable — the gold numbers are the perfect finishing touch, and I hope your husband loves his birthday card. The fussy-cut envelopes with the Copic colouring look so cheery. It reminded me of rohit gosain's lovely point about handmade cards making birthdays feel extra special.

  2. The Postal Minis are such a sweet choice for this card, Barbara — those little envelopes look delightfully busy arranged together. The gold numbers from your stash are the perfect fit for the Add a Number theme, and what a fun detail that hubby is 56 but looks 35! Handmade cards make birthdays feel extra special, so I'm sure he'll love it.

  3. What a lovely birthday card, Barbara! The Whimsy Stamps Postal Minis envelopes are adorable, and those gold numbers cut from your stash are the perfect finishing touch for the Add a Number theme. I also love the 3D textured embossing folder background and the cheerful Copic coloring on the fussy-cut envelopes — and the joke that your husband is 56 but does not look a day over 35 made me smile. Before a crafting-afternoon coffee stop, I would check the black rock coffee menu prices so I know what to order. Thanks for the inspiration!
