Penny Black Add a Heart

Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

This week's challenge theme ~ Add a Heart

This week we are featuring products from Penny Black. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
This week's project features the Penny Black Country Bouquet stamp set. I thought I would try my hand at watercoloring. I'm not very good at it but I do love to play around and when I saw this old milk can image it just screamed to be watercolored. I made two projects. The A2 size card was my first attempt at painting the can and the mini-slimline card was my second painting. Which one do you like better?
This first card is made with an A2 size card base from smooth white cardstock. I used a rectangle die to cut out another piece of white cardstock to use a mat behind my focal point. I used water color paper and stamped the milk can. I used water and a paint brush to add brown distress ink to the stamped image. I then used the paint brush to flick brown speckles.
I used flower dies from my stash to create the bouquet. I arranged them on the panel with foam squares. I cut small heart dies to the bouquet cut from red cardstock. I stamped the sentiment and used it's coordinating die to cut it out from white cardstock.
The next project is a mini-slim line card base cut from smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed down a piece of watercolor paper to fit the card base and leave a bit of a border. I ink blended the edges to make it stand out against the white card base.
I then stamped the milk can and used distress ink and water to add color to it with a paint brush. I added a few flecks of dark brown ink to the panel.
I used a brown colored pencil to draw in my stems and die cut out small hearts from red cardstock to add to each stem with foam squares. I die cut the "love" from white cardstock twice for dimension and adhered it to the center of the can. I stamped the sentiment over the heart bouquet using dark brown ink.
I hope you enjoyed the project I made for this challenge and got some inspiration. I have provided affiliate links to all the products used. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
