Manipulating Die Cuts
Collecting craft dies can be an expensive hobby. I love to get the most use out of them. I wanted to create a fairly simple colorful project using a small daisy as my focal point. When I looked through my stash , I found the perfect little outline daisy from the Simon Says Stamp Floral Stem but I did not want the other attached flowers and leaves. So, with a little snip here and a little snip there I was able to have the image I wanted!
I began with an A2 card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed down a panel to layer on the card base. I wanted to customise a plaid background. I used a ruler and copic markers to do so. Sorry if this sounds so redundant. I need to hire a writer for my blog posts!π€£
I used detail scissors to cut away the parts of the floral stem die that I did not want. I just wanted the outline daisy for this project. I cut it out three times for thickness from white cardstock. I used the inside of the petals to color with distress ink to match the color pallet. I then added liquid glue to the center of the flower and inside the leaf and sprinkled glitter for a bit of shine. I set that aside to dry.
I then cut a rectangle from a set of stitched rectangle die to do a bit of ink "smooshing" with distress ink and a piece of clear plastic from some packaging. My sentiment was from a stamp set that I embossed with white ink and embossing powder.
