It's no secret that I am in love with making my own plaid backgrounds so I am featuring the Spellbinders Plaid Builder stencil set .  I began by choosing one of the four stencils that come in the Spellbinders Plaid Builder stencil set . I wanted to create a simple grid pattern. I placed a piece of white cardstock on a sticky mat to hold it in place then used a blender brush to add the stripes with pink and yellow ink. Big Bows birthday card

Image
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm shopping my stash to find a die that I haven't used in a while to create a fun and simple birthday card. This project features the Simon Says Stamp Big Bow die . I just love the size of it! Very simple card to make! I die cut the bow from pink, yellow and coral colored cardstock. I then added the cut pieces of the bow in my MISTI and stamped with with a swiss dots background stamp in a coordinating ink. I assembled the bow pieces together with liquid glue and a few pieces of foam squares. I adhered them them to a panel of white cardstock cut with a stitched rectangle die to fit an A2 size card base. I trimmed off the excess. Last, I die cut the happy birthday sentiment from silver glitter cardstock. I also cut it out of white cardstock two more times to adhere together for thickness. I hope you enjoyed the project I made and got some inspiration to show some love to those older stamps and dies that you have in your stash.  If you are interested I...

I then trimmed down another piece of white cardstock and added distress in to the raised inside of the embossing folder before I ran it through the die cut machine. This technique pushes the ink into the recessed area of the impression.  I then did my die cutting. I cut out the sentiment, stars and letters from white, blue and green cardstock. I adhered them together with liquid glue and...

This embossing folder had a die for the pencil shape included. I also used the Thanks Teacher die set to create my background. I began by creating a background panel using the Thank You Teacher die set. I cut it out of white cardstock 6 times and adhered them to a white panel with liquid glue. I trimmed off the over hand of the dies and then trimmed it down a bit to fit onto an A2 size card base. I the cut the pencil shape die 7 times from white cardstock. This die is included with the Pencil Embossing folder. I placed the cut pencil shape into the embossing folder and ran that through my machine. I then colored each pencil with copic markers. Copics used: tip W7, wood E23, metal ring W3 W5, eraser RV81 RV83, pencil body R29 R14 R21 R22 YR04 YR07 Y21 Y26 YG23 YG25 BG11 BG13. If you want a more watercolor look try ...
