Penny Black Anything Goes

Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

This week's challenge theme Anything Goes!

We are featuring products from Penny Black. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
I have chosen this absolutely adorable Penny Black Watering Can die set to feature on my project for this week's challenge. I wanted to create movement with the flowers. Not sure it I accomplished that but it was sure fun to make.
I made an A2 size card base from smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed down another piece of white cardstock to create a panel that I ran through the Basket Weave embossing folder. I adhered this panel to the card base with tape runner.
With a paper trimmer I cut four squares of heavy white cardstock to prepare for ink blending and "ink smooshing". This is a technique where you dip a clear piece of plastic (I used stamp packaging) into distress ink mis with a bit of water and add it to the cardstock in random areas. You can choose to add a little or lot of water depending on how deep you want you color. I also did "ink splattering" for each square which I  used to cut my flowers and leaves from.
I also die cut the watering can from white cardstock and distress it with gray distress ink using a finger dauber. I stamped the sentiment using the same color ink and made a tag that I adhered to the can. I also wrapped some natural twine around the watering can and adhered it to the card. I added gems to the centers of each flower that I arranged around the can in a pattern to create the illusion of movement.

    I love Penny Black's stuff!! I have a bunch if their old, wood mount stamps in my collection. 😉 But boy, do I love your card and how you used the water pitcher die.

Simon Says Stamp DieCember Blog Party

I'm so happy to be sharing inspiration for the Simon Says Stamp DieCember blog party! Using the new Ornate Star die I created ornaments for my little flocked Christmas tree. I feel like I could make a dozen of these easily! I die cut the Ornate Star die once from gold cardstock and once from silver cardstock. I then glued the die cut stars on to silver and gold glitter paper. I weighted it with a large acrylic block to help the stars adhered firmly to the glitter cardstock. When the adhesive was dry I used a craft knife to cut out the stars from the glitter cardstock. I then die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from red metallic cardstock and white cardstock and adhered together for thickness and glued them carefully to the stars as to not have a glob of glue mess up the shine of the metallic cardstock. Simon Says Stamp Sweet Wishes Blog Hop - Day 1

I'm happy to be participating in day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Wishes blog hop. I am sharing a project using the gorgeous new Poinsettia Field embossing folder . I began with an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then placed another piece of white cardstock inside the Poinsettia Field embossing folder and ran it through my die cut machine to create the impression. I then trimmed it down to fit the card base and leave a thin border. I colored the raised poinsettias with copic markers. Using gold paint and a paintbrush, I painted the centers of each flower. I used a sentiment from the new Heartfelt Snowflakes stamp set . I stamped it using clear embossing ink and sprinkled gold embossing powder over and heat set it. When it was cooled I used the coordinating die to cut it out and added to the uncolored area of the embossed panel with foam tape.
