Christmas Plaid with Mistletoe card

Hello crafty friends! I am sharing a fun DIY Christmas plaid background project with you. If you are new here to my blog then I have to warn you that I am obsessed with creating my own plaid backgrounds. There are a lot of stencil, stamps and dies to help create a beautiful plaid background, but for me, a simple strip of post it tape is my favorite way to customize and achieve this fun look.
First, I created an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed down a panel of craft cardstock to create the plaid background. Using strips of post it tape I mask off diagonal strips. Using a blending tool and distress ink, I color in each strip. Pro-tip: to create the glitter on the strips add double sided tape runner over the desired strip then sprinkle clear glitter over the top. Shake off the excess and use a scrap piece of paper over the top and use a brayer or press down to push in the glitter to the adhesive to stay put!
I then die cut the mistletoe, bow and berries from colored cardstock. I arranged them in the center of a stitched scalloped rectangle die cut from white cardstock. I adhered to the center of the card base.
I hope you enjoyed the project I have made and got some inspiration for you to try this fun technique of creating your own plaid background. I have listed all the supplies I used. I have provided affiliate links at no additional cost to you that help support this blog. Thanks for stopping by!
