Spellbinders Make You Own Background

Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

This week's challenge theme is Make Your Own Background

We are featuring products from Spellbinders. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
It's very rare that I use pattern paper on a project just because I love to make my own background. Today's project will involve lots of die cuts including the gorgeous Spellbinder's Black Eyed Susan die set.
I began with an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock.
I then created the background for this card using a plaid die cut from more white cardstock.
The "newspaper" wrap for my bouquet was made from craft cardstock stamped with a typewriter print background stamp. I tied natural twine around it.
I made the flowers by coloring directly onto watercolor paper using Karin brush markers in some fun bright colors. I then spritz each one with water and let them dry before die cutting out the flowers.
I wanted to add lots of splatter to each flower so I smushed distress ink onto my glass mat and added water.
After they were dry I used two flower dies to make one and die cut the centers out and adhered them to the card base in a bouquet arrangement with 3d foam squares. I also added a few leaves from the same die set. I die cut the word thanks out of white cardstock three times for thickness and adhered it to the center of the bouquet.
I hope you enjoyed the project I have made for this week's challenge and got some inspiration!
For your convenience I have listed and linked the supplies I have used. The links below are affiliate links which means at no additional costs to you I will make a small percentage of each item your purchase which helps support my blog. Thank you so much for stopping by!
