You're My Hero Dad card
This post is to pay tribute to my late father-in-law. He was born in Hawaii and would always wear Hawaiian shirts. I made a card today that reminded me of a pattern of one of his favorite shirts. We sure miss him! Aloha Tutuman!
I used a fun technique for this background. Using a cling background stamp I added white pigment ink to the stamp on to watercolor paper. I then shook white embossing powder to the inked areas and then heat set it. The white embossed area will resist the ink. I painted the leaves in shades of green and turquoise. When the leaves were dry I painted in between the leaves with a blue distress ink mixed with water.
When that panel was dry I trimmed it down to fit an A2 size card base. I then die cut the letters dad out of white cardstock and fun foam using alphabet dies from my stash. On dark green cardstock I stamped the sub-sentiment with more white pigment ink and heat set that with white embossing powder. I added a few light green sequins to finish this project.
I hope that you found this technique fun and inspires you to try it! I have all the supplies I have used listed and linked below. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!!
