Mother's day card

Image
Mother's day has always been tough for me. I lost my own mother when I was young but it doesn't keep me from enjoying making Mother's' day cards to honor her! I've always felt that I got my creative gene from her. One of my earliest memories was being at her knee while she was making an paper owl that was framed that hung above our mantel. Miss her a lot! Anyway, I've been in love with this technique lately of dragging black ink over these gorgeous  Blossom Bunches 3d embossing folders  from the new  Simon Says Stamp Celebrate release. I have a reel over on my instagram page that shows a bit of this process. I began with a panel of white of cardstock that I ran through the die cut machine using the new embossing folder. I flipped it over and added ink to the de-bossed side. (valley side)  I then used a black ink pad that was a bit raised to drag directly over the embossed and inked panel to make the colors pop! It creates this gorgeous background for my card. Ye...

No Place Like Home card

Image
Hello crafty friends! I am sharing  the new No Place Like Home stamp set . Do you have cherished friends and family that live further apart than you would like? I do, so I am loving this stamp that has provided the perfect images to make a very simple but sweet card to send to one of them. I began with an A2 size card base made from white cardstock. On a separate panel of white cardstock I masked off the sky and grass to ink blend a background with distress ink. I stamped two homes and sun from the stamp set and colored them with copic markers. I stamped the sun on a scrap of pattern paper . I fussy cut them all out and added them to the ink blended background with foam squares. I stamp a sentiment from the set using black ink. I used a postage stamp rectangle die to cut the panel out. Click HERE to see more inspiration or to purchase this set. I hope you enjoyed the project I made and got some inspiration. I have listed all the supplies I used and provided affiliate links at no a...

Dimensions are usually around 3.5" X 5". Each 4 bar card base is cut from smooth white cardstock. I will discuss the panels I create for each card. Each panel was cut using the Waffle Flower Dotted rectangle die from white cardstock. I then masked off the edges of the panel with post it tape to leave a white border. I then used ink and a blending brush to add color to the panel. I then used a heart stencil to add hearts with ink and texture ...

Birthday Card Fix!

Image
Today's post is all about shopping your stash. I have so many wonderful stamps, stencils, dies and many more amazing crafty supplies that I have collected over the years. Here are a few of my go to items for quick and easy birthday cards to have on hand. Each card was made the same with the exception of the sentiments and the layout. I used an A2 size card base for each made from smooth white cardstock.  I trimmed down a panel of white cardstock to leave a bit of a border. This panel with be used for the stenciled background. I used a balloon stencil in three sizes. I overlapped them when I applied the ink to give the balloons a transparent look. I the used a light gray colored pencil and a ruler to draw strings from each balloon.  I then die cut each sentiment from white cardstock three times and glued them together for thickness. The shadow for each sentiment was cut from holographic cardstock. I then die cut the streamers from more holographic cardstock and adhered them to ...

Simon Says Stamp Rain or Shine new release day

Image
It's release day! I am so happy to be sharing a project using some goodies from the new Simon Says Stamp Rain or Shine release.  I am featuring the new Wiggle Flower embossing folder. I just adore the name of this folder - so perfect! I began with an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then took another piece of white cardstock and ran it through the new Wiggle Flowers embossing folder . I trimmed the panel down to fit inside of a A2 size frame small enough to leave a nice white border. Next, I used some yellow ink directly to the flat inside of the embossing folder to ink of the "valley" of my panel. I then used Copic markers to color in each "raised" flower. This was so amazing for my anxiety. I love to just sit and color! I then used some left over sentiments and word dies that I keep in a zip mesh bag for later use. I hope you enjoyed the project I made and got some inspiration. I have listed all the supplies I used and provided affiliate ...

Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit - Butterfly Blossoms

Image
I am so happy to share a few projects using goodies from the new Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit called Butterfly Blossoms. This kit is packed with all kinds of gorgeous things to play with! I made this trio of cards using an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. Using a paper trimmer I cut a few of the sheets of pattern paper into small rectangles. I adhered them to a piece of white cardstock that I matted using the honey cardstock. I then stamped the sentiments from the stamps set on vellum with white embossing ink and heat set them. I trimmed them to a strip and wrapped the strips around the panel and adhered it to the back and added it to the card base. For this next project I chose another piece of the pattern paper and die cut it out using a stitched rectangle die and adhered that to the white card base. I then stamped the sentiment on another piece of the pattern paper included in the kit. I stamped it with clear ink and heat set it using gold embossing powder. I u...
