Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments Blog Hop - Day 1

It's been such a cold and ugly winter so I just had to create some spring blooms. Card Base : Top folding A2 size card cut from smooth white cardstock. Background : I used a plaid stencil from my stash to create a simple background on gray cardstock that I cut out using a stitched rectangle die. Focal Point : I used the  Simon Says Stamp Country Basket Bouquet die  images to create this fun spring basket filled with flowers. Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments Release day

Hello crafty friends! I am happy to share a project featuring the Sweet Bunny Die, the Fable Cute Bunny die , Hoppy Springs stamps and the Basic Shapes Nested Egg dies  from the new Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments release. Click HERE to see the full release! I used the Simon Says Stamp Gift Bag die to create this fun Easter project. I cut and assembled the bag out of pattern paper I had in my stash. Pro tip: use really sticky tape to adhere your box together. I then die cut out a rectangle mat from white cardstock to frame my bunny scene. I cut out the larger bunny once and the smaller bunny twice from white cardstock. I used copic markers to add colored to them. I die cut a scalloped rectangle background and ink blended it with green and blue ink to ground the bunnies so they didn't look like they were just floating in the air. I then used the smallest of the nested egg shapes to create my Easter eggs. I used white paint to add decor to the eggs. The bow tie and sentim...

This week we are featuring products from Hero Arts . You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. I made this card for anyone that is experiencing some kind of loss of a loved one. Nothing says comfort than a homemade casserole brought over by a friend. Card Base: Top folding A2 size cut from smooth white cardstock. Background: Cream colored cardstock cut from frame dies and ran through an embossing folder. Focal Point: Casserole dishes cut from scraps of colored cardstock and white cardstock. Adhered together with liquid glue and adhered to the card base with 3d foam squares. Poinsettia Birthday card

Today's post will show you how to get more use out of your holiday 3d embossing folders. One of my favorite holiday embossing folder was the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia embossing folder. I was experimenting with non-holiday colors and realized that the florals of this folder look like flowers for any occasion. I also used one of my favorite techniques of turning over the embossing panel and adding ink directly to the panel.  Card base: Top folding A2 size cut from smooth white cardstock. Background: White cardstock trimmed down to leave a bit of a border ran through a 3d embossing folder. I colored the centers of the flowers with a yellow copic marker in the inverted side of the panel. Then a took a purple oxide ink pad and pulled over the entire top of the panel. Sentiment: I colored strips white cardstock to coordinate with the background and cut the banners from them. I adhered the banner to the panel with 3d foam squares for extra dimension. This week I am featuring the Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer die . Such a fun die set to play with! I began with an A2 top folding card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then cut all the elements for the magic picture changer die set from white cardstock. I stamped an image from the sweet Peacock stamp set in black ink twice. I colored one of them in with copic markers. I trimmed down a panel to adhere over the picture changer. I stamped it with a dot background stamp and ink blended it with distress ink. Simon Says Stamp March card kit - Watercolor Bouquet

I am so happy to share a few projects using goodies from the new Simon Says Stamp March card kit . This kit is full of  to create projects with that whimsical watercolor look. All the projects were created with an A2 size card base. I used the watercolor cardstock to create the background panels. For this first project I used a flat wide paintbrush to paint stripes for this simple background. I then stamped the tulips from the Watercolor Bouquet stamp set and coordinating die to cut them out and adhered them to the panel. Again I used a flat brush to paint stripes horizontally and vertically on watercolor paper to create the background for this simple but adorable card. For this project I used several images from the stamp set. I stamped the stems first and then added the blooms to the tops of the stems. We're Better Together card

Sharing a fun project not just for Valentines but for any occasion you want to let someone know they are special to you! This card features the adorable Sweet Friendship stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp Heart to Heart release. Background: I trimmed down a piece of white cardstock to fit an A2 size card base to leave a bit of a border. I then used a stripe stencil from my stash to create a soft and simple plaid background.  Focal Point: I created a shaker element using nesting square dies to make a frame. I adhered a clear acetate piece over the frame with liquid glue to contain the shaker bits.  I created a cute scene for the shaker window by stamping a few of the images from the Sweet Friendship stamp set and colored them in with copic markers. I used their coordinating dies to cut them out and added them to the background that would be behind the shaker element. This week's challenge theme ~  Not a Card This week we are featuring products from the amazing Tim Holtz . You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a  $25 voucher to the Simon store! This week's project is a fun Valentine's Box decorated with the Tim Holtz Watercolor stamp set .  I began by creating the gift box by cutting the bag die twice from white cardstock. Before assembling the box I used the heart stamp to decorate the box. I assembled box with liquid glue and then distressed the edged with the same red ink I used to stamp the hearts. I cut the handles and the sentiment die from red cardstock. I then die cut a frame from white cardstock and stamped the sub-sentiment on the bottom of the frame and then adhered the hugs and kisses cut out with foam squares. I c...

Sending Birthday Wishes Your Way card

Have you ever seen a pattern on a tablecloth or a tea cup and think...that would make a great background for a card? I guess I have cardmaking on the brain all the time. This post features a background for a birthday card that was inspired by a pretty bowl I saw at Hobby Lobby. I just wish I would have taken a photo of it to share here but of course I didn't think of it at the time. Card Base: White cardstock cut to a top folding A2 size Background: Thin rectangle frame cut from white cardstock and colored with a yellow copic marker. Inside of frame was cut from aqua cardstock. Flowers were cut from white cardstock and centers of the flowers were colored with the same yellow copic marker and adhered to the aqua panel with liquid glue and excess trimmed off to fit inside of thin yellow frame and added to the card base.
