This week I am showcasing the Lawn Fawn I Scream, You Scream die set  to create a sweet birthday card. I made this card with an A2 size card base from smooth white cardstock. Using a fancy frame die I cut it from white and chocolate cardstock. I trimmed off the loops of the chocolate die cut to create a layer over the white loopy frame. I then stamped on a panel of red cardstock with a gingham background stamp in red ink, die cut it out with a rectangle frame and ink blended it for interest. I layered that on top of the brown panel. I die cut the all ice cream cones from white cardstock and ink bl...

Chunky Birthday Sparkle card

Image
Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a bright, sparkly birthday card I made with an oldie but goodie CZ Design Chunky Birthday die set. This A2 size card was made from smooth white cardstock. I then stamped the flowers on a panel of white cardstock in black Memento ink. I colored the images in with copic markers. R17, R27, YR04, YR07 Y21, Y26 and BG13. This was an older background stamp that is no longer available but you could easily use a Memento black marker to hand draw flowers or just doodle some shapes to color in for your background. Using the CZ Design Chunky Birthday die I created a 3d sentiment by cutting it from white cardstock three times to make it thick. I then adhered the sentiment on clear acetate to create the look of a shaker element. I used an embellishment wand to drop in flat clear sequins with dabs of liquid glue inside each letter. The "happy" sentiment was die cut from silver glitter cardstock. I used a gel pen to add white dots in the blue ar...

Mother's day card

Image
Mother's day has always been tough for me. I lost my own mother when I was young but it doesn't keep me from enjoying making Mother's' day cards to honor her! I've always felt that I got my creative gene from her. One of my earliest memories was being at her knee while she was making an paper owl that was framed that hung above our mantel. Miss her a lot! Anyway, I've been in love with this technique lately of dragging black ink over these gorgeous  Blossom Bunches 3d embossing folders  from the new  Simon Says Stamp Celebrate release. I have a reel over on my instagram page that shows a bit of this process. I began with a panel of white of cardstock that I ran through the die cut machine using the new embossing folder. I flipped it over and added ink to the de-bossed side. (valley side)  I then used a black ink pad that was a bit raised to drag directly over the embossed and inked panel to make the colors pop! It creates this gorgeous background for my card. Ye...

No Place Like Home card

Image
Hello crafty friends! I am sharing  the new No Place Like Home stamp set . Do you have cherished friends and family that live further apart than you would like? I do, so I am loving this stamp that has provided the perfect images to make a very simple but sweet card to send to one of them. I began with an A2 size card base made from white cardstock. On a separate panel of white cardstock I masked off the sky and grass to ink blend a background with distress ink. I stamped two homes and sun from the stamp set and colored them with copic markers. I stamped the sun on a scrap of pattern paper . I fussy cut them all out and added them to the ink blended background with foam squares. I stamp a sentiment from the set using black ink. I used a postage stamp rectangle die to cut the panel out. Click HERE to see more inspiration or to purchase this set. I hope you enjoyed the project I made and got some inspiration. I have listed all the supplies I used and provided affiliate links at no a...

You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a  $25 voucher to the Simon store! This week I am using the Waffle Flower Dotted Rectangle dies to create a set of 4 bar cards. What is a 4 bar card? It is just a smaller version of an A2 size card base. Dimensions are usually around 3.5" X 5". Each 4 bar card base is cut from smooth white cardstock. I will discuss the panels I create for each card. Each panel was cut using the Waffle Flower Dotted rectangle die from white cardstock. I then masked off the edges of the panel with post it tape to leave a white border. I then used ink and a blending brush to add color to the panel. I then used a heart stencil to add hearts with ink and texture ...

Birthday Card Fix!

Image
Today's post is all about shopping your stash. I have so many wonderful stamps, stencils, dies and many more amazing crafty supplies that I have collected over the years. Here are a few of my go to items for quick and easy birthday cards to have on hand. Each card was made the same with the exception of the sentiments and the layout. I used an A2 size card base for each made from smooth white cardstock.  I trimmed down a panel of white cardstock to leave a bit of a border. This panel with be used for the stenciled background. I used a balloon stencil in three sizes. I overlapped them when I applied the ink to give the balloons a transparent look. I the used a light gray colored pencil and a ruler to draw strings from each balloon.  I then die cut each sentiment from white cardstock three times and glued them together for thickness. The shadow for each sentiment was cut from holographic cardstock. I then die cut the streamers from more holographic cardstock and adhered them to ...
