WOW Emboss It!
Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
This week's challenge theme is Emboss It!
We are featuring products from Wow. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would to see what you make. As always just for entering you will be eligible for the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
This week I am sharing a go to technique called emboss resist using WOW's clear embossing powder. I think this was one of the very first techniques I learned how to do over 25 years ago. Yikes!! It still yields great results almost every time. I'm also using an amazing background stamp that will give me some much needed color therapy!
I began with a piece of watercolor paper that I stamped using a floral background stamp in black pigment ink. First I applied an anti-static brush over the surface of the watercolor paper and stamped the background image 3 times for a nice crisp dark image. Using WOW clear embossing powder I poured it all over the stamped image and heat set it using a heat tool.
I then pulled out my Karin brush markers to watercolor all the flowers in a rainbow style. Colors I used: Pale Pink, Cerise, Fire Red, Amber, Pale Orange, Gold, Sylphur Yellow, Cool Aqua, Cyan, Red Lilac, Plum. I then painted in the leaves with gold watercolor using a paint brush. I also filled in the white spaces with a black marker. I then die cut the frame and sentiment from white cardstock and fun foam for thickness and glued them to the top middle of the watercolor background after I had adhered the panel to an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed the project I have made for this challenge and got some inspiration! For your convenience I have listed and linked the supplies I have used below. Thank you so much for stopping by!
